Executive Advising & Coaching

Executive Advising & Coaching

Leadership can be dangerous. Our organizations are full of issues that involve competing values, conflicting loyalties and deeply held beliefs and traditions that make transformation difficult—even elusive.

At Joyner Advising Group, our executive advising and coaching services aim to focus attention on healthy, forward-looking leaders who are passionate about becoming better, more effective change agents. Building on the work of Ronald Heifetz in Leadership on the Line and The Practice of Adaptive Leadership, our aim is to create a context where the leader becomes an adaptive leader for the learning and transformation of their organizational culture.

Goals

We work with leaders one-on-one through advising and coaching interactions.

Becoming a Well-Defined Leader who can stay calm, relationally connected and act on conviction in the midst of the challenges of organizational transformation.

Developing Adaptive Capacity to lead a team or organization into its own transformation so it can face the challenges of rapidly changing contexts and conditions.

Outcomes of Executive Advising & Coaching

Greater Emotional Intelligence

Emotional Intelligence is the ability to identify, understand, and manage emotions. Simply put, it’s the ability to make emotions work for you and the mission of your organization, instead of against you.

Clear Communication

Human communication is fraught with misunderstanding. Leaders will grow in their ability to communicate efficiently and effectively through difficult challenges as well as times of incredible opportunity.

Effective Conflict Navigation

Good leaders embrace–even promote–healthy conflict. The ability to navigate and ultimately leverage conflict for the organization’s good sets great leaders apart from the pack.

Better Decision-Making

The holistic work of executive advising and coaching leads to a stronger foundation from which to make decisions. As a construction friend once put it: “If I get it wrong in the foundation, it will follow me all the way to the top.”

Courage To Take Bold Action

Most leaders lack the courage to take bold action when confusion is present. When shared values and healthy process are honored, the result is clarity. That clarity leads to the courage to jettison the status-quo and lead adaptive change.
